We’re just two Georgia peaches on a mission to see the world. And watch the Braves play in every major league stadium.
We first began Our McTravels in Pigeon Forge, TN many years ago. We filmed our first videos and made plans for what would someday be our own show. ‘Travel Channel, here we come!’ we said. Now, 10+ years later, we’ve been to more places than most people we know put together!
We decided to start this blog to document our adventures and perhaps offer a bit of advice to those of you looking to do some traveling of your own. We may not be experts (after all, we haven’t gotten in those 10,000 hours quite yet), but we’re well on our way.
Meet the McTravelers
Hi! I’m Mallory.
When I was younger, we would usually go on vacations every summer. Most of the time we would go to the beach in Florida or North Carolina. Occasionally, we would travel to the mountains of Tennessee. But it wasn’t until I was 22 that I ventured outside of the United States and really discovered my love of traveling. For only the fourth time in my life, I boarded an airplane; this time to London, England. Traveling in the United States is great. In fact, I hope to one day visit all 50 states. But seeing the architecture and historical sites of countries much older than ours is an eye opening experience.

Since 2010, I’ve longed to visit other countries that I’ve only ever seen in photographs. Like many people, I have a bucket list of places to go. But, unlike a lot of people, I fully intend to follow through. Life it too short not to do the things you really want to do. I mean, you only live once right?
Other things about me?
I watch too much YouTube, read a lot of fiction and love making spreadsheets. Halloween and Christmas are my favorite holidays, and I am a firm believer in wearing costumes whenever the opportunity presents itself. I am a con-goer, lover of country music and a self-described organized mess.
I like to watch Braves baseball, Backstreet Boys are still my jam and banana caramel gelato is the best gelato (fight me on it). I am a certified photographer and love taking photos wherever I go. I also have a BBA in business management and I’m currently working in technology purchasing.
Hey! I’m Courtney!
I never thought I would get a Hogwarts letter and I was right. I love being right (probably too much… it’s annoying to other people and not my finest quality). However, people still put up with me and my life is pretty awesome. I love travelling because there is so much to see and eat in America and around the world. It’s good to open your eyes and take in all the beauty of the world. As trite as it may sound, travel actually is the best teacher and I learn lessons every time I go somewhere new. Some of those lessons are about the places I go to, but more of them are about what I am capable of both physically and mentally.

Watching sports brings me a lot of joy… and heartache. Many tears of happiness and sadness have been shed over Georgia Bulldog Football and the Atlanta Braves Baseball. The happy tears were the ones flowing recently when both of those teams brought home Championship trophies for the first time in a long time. From The Monkees, to the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC, to One Direction, boy bands rock my world almost as much as Country music which is the soundtrack to my life. I love bacon and Cadbury Eggs and I offset that love by hiking and other fitness type stuff.
Coffee is the main tool in the toolkit of my life. I somehow earned my Masters’ degree in business administration without it and I’m not quite sure how. I work as a credit risk portfolio manager at a non-profit doing loans for small business owners. I work to live, I don’t live to work which is something I have tried to instill in my coworkers over the years. I watch too much TV and don’t read enough books, but I’m trying to fix that. My main goal in life is to enjoy it and spend as much time with the people I love as possible.
